IOM - Facilitator I

IOM is looking for Community Facilitator I according to the terms of reference below. Position Title : Community Facilitator I
Duty Station : Bireun, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam
Classification : Employee, Grade 4
Type of contract : Special all-inclusive, 3 months
Estimate Starting Date : Soon as Possible

General Functions:

Under the direct supervision of the Project manager and the overall supervision of the Head of Office Aceh Recovery and Rehabilitation, the Community Facilitator I will provide technical support in the conduct and implementation of project activities. In particular, he/she will:

1. Organize and facilitate community meetings, including separate meetings for women as necessary
2. Conduct KAP and impact assessment surveys and input collected data
3. Work with communities and IOM engineer to identify temporary and permanent water supply needs
4. Support the establishment, and build capacity of, Village Water and Sanitation Committees VWSC
5. Identify and provide relevant training and support to village health kaders
6. Develop training materials.
7. Either directly, or in support of the VWSC, secure and monitor community contributions
8. Provide regular reports to the relevant Area Coordinator
9. Implementation of PHAST and hygiene promotion activities and distribution of IEC materials
10. Submit progress reports to Unit Head and Field Coordinator on the community aspects in the districts on a weekly basis.
11. Perform other duties as may be assigned

Desirable qualifications:

Diploma in Community Development or Sociology or alternatively, a university degree in theses fields will be highly regarded, or alternatively, a combination of experience and training in these fields.

At least three to five years experience in community-related organizing and consultation activities/exercise s for development and empowerment purposes.

Strong communication skills in articulating the programme emphasis of IOM to government and international stakeholders as well as target beneficiaries.
Excellent time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and team skills. Ability to travel at short notice for periods up to two weeks. Computer literate

Working knowledge of English is an advantage รข€“ which will be considered when the above qualifications are met. 
