Australian Red Cross - HIV Senior Project Officer

Australian Red Cross is currently seeking highly motivated and qualified candidate to fill the position of:

· HIV – Senior Project Officer (Code: HSPO – Jun 08)

Essential Skills & Experienced required
· Knowledge of Red Cross activities and commitment to Red Cross Principles
· University Degree in Health or Social Services
· Previous experience working with PMI
· Previous experience in HIV project and/or Public Health
· High level verbal and written communication skills (Bahasa Indonesian and Professional English)
· Ability to produce high quality reports, develop project work planning and monitoring documentation
· Working knowledge of computers including spreadsheets and word processing
· Team orientated person willing to share ideas in an open and positive manner
· Excellent health; physically and mentally capable of working in stressful environments, and to meet programmatic deadlines
· Willingness to travel to districts periodically
· Experience in project management
· Ability to develop and foster partnerships with multiple stakeholders
· Ability to develop An effective working collaboration with PMI to support them to implement a HIV/AIDS prevention program in NAD.

Key tasks of the position are:
· Assist and support PMI to take responsibility for implementation of the project.
· Assess training needs of PMI staff and volunteers.
· Prepare work plans where necessary to assist with the completion of projects
· Organize training sessions in collaboration with PMI for staff and volunteers
· Regular meetings with PMI staff and volunteers to share information, build relationships, review progress and provide support.
· Liaise with government and non-government organizations and collaborate with them where appropriate.
· Perform the duties of interpreter and translator of documents as required
· Project duration is until January 2009
